10/14/2019 Os X Burn Iso To Usb
Fix 'Could not validate source' error when trying to burn iso file to USB stick. Issue I was trying to burn an iso image file to my USB stick by Mac OS Disk Utiliy. But Disk Utiliy failed to burn and give me an error: 'Restore Failure Could not validate source - invalid Argument'.
After googling the issue, I found that the error is caused by imcompatible image file formats. Disk Utility expects, including the Universal Disk Image Format (UDIF) and the New Disk Image Format (NDIF), while the format of iso image file is ISO9660.

Using dd to burn an ISO to a USB drive on OS X. If you happen to be looking for a good USB drive, I would hands down recommend the Kingston SE9 32GB. It's only $9 on Amazon! I've had mine for years, it's solid as a rock, and the solid minimalist aluminum casing looks great. I've burned many Linux distros on it without problem.
